Souterrains/dehors

I've always been striken by the paradoxal feeling that underground passages kindle: on one hand, they are empty, identical, impersonal and dull functional spaces; but on the other, they're creating a whole little world underground, like an imaginary children cave that protects us from the vastness of big anonym cities.

The first part of this work has tried to show this tendance of modern culture to empty more and more urban spaces and to turn them into non-places - places that have no meaning, that create no relations between users and that generate only solitude and similarity.
